Future Cruiser's 5th Birthday

On Future Cruiser’s 5^th Birthday, she had to show us how well she could ride her first two wheeler bicycle. She then informed us soon she would be ready to drive ‘Blue 2’. We just smiled and thought Thank You Lord she is only 5.

We decided to take her to the mall. Thinking this would be fun we went to Build A Bear. If you have ever taken a grandchild to this it is an experience. First you choose your bear, then pick a heart, and watch as your Bear is brought to life. This was fun, but what we did not realize that to get to the check out counter you have to go through the clothing department. This is as bad as taking a teenager to shop. We both decided that this is our first and last time ever.

As she grows we are amazed at how much she knows, and also it is so much fun as we can spoil her then take her home. She will be flying to Florida soon with her parents, and we are looking forward to Disney. For those who know Linda, think what my day will be like with Linda and Mini Linda (I Bill may need a long rest afterward).

Future Cruiser’s 4^th Birthday

This story starts out prior to her 4^th Birthday. Linda flew from AZ to see her. Linda got stuck in Chicago Airport for 10 hrs, finally got a seat and ended in IN at 1:30am.

All had agreed she was to get a day to RR before the kids got home. Well she started her morning enjoying the cool of the day. After being in AZ heat, 44 degrees felt good. Linda with her morning coffee went outside on the patio with her light weight PJ’s and Robe. You have to under stand this home is child proof, with door knobs that takes an engineer to open. She unlocked the door and finally got outside. What she didn’t know is that the doors lock after you go out. So here she is outside in not comfortable attire, no cell phone and all the neighbors at work.

Linda realized that the dogs have a way into the home, so she went in search of their entrance. Now Linda is small, but the doggy door is 12” X 18”. She then decided to become a contortionist. The two big dogs looked at her like what are you doing?? After successfully getting in, (going through dog hair & cob webs) she is in the dark. Then groping her way around this room she finds a light switch, only to see a closed door to the main house.

Now if you know Linda you can imagine what she felt (Please don’t be locked). As she climbed the stairs the door opened. She decided not to try going outside again.

The next day was Linda’s & Future Cruiser’s day alone. First Mommy gave her a list of fun things to do. They were to make a Chocolate Cake (Linda does not bake). After doing the cake and cleaning her and Future Cruiser up, plus the mess they made they were on to the next fun project.

Four 4’ planter boxes to be planted with petunias. It was to cold to do this outside, and Mommy said to do it at the kitchen table, so Linda got all the flowers inside. Then came the trouble. The planter boxes were on the patio where she got locked out the day before. Linda got Future Cruiser to stand at the door and told her to keep it open while Linda brought in the planters. Future Cruiser did not like the cold so she shut the door. Linda said please open the door, and the reply was, ‘It is child proof and I can’t’. So here is Linda going nooooooo……… I have a young child inside, I am going to have to do the doggy door again.

After giving Future Cruiser instructions that she was to guard the door, Linda made a extreme dash to get back into the home (again the dogs are giving her a look, as to what are you doing)

To say the least she did this in record time, and Future Cruiser announces, ‘I have guarded this door, now can we plant the flowers?’ Linda decided she needed a well earned break and suggested a juice break.

The flowers got planted, then the clean up started with Future Cruiser deciding the fastest way was to take her hand and sweep the table. Least to say again another major clean up.

Now to the story. Future Cruiser told Linda,’I am going to be 4 and I want to Give Wishes. This was the start to find just the right outfit.

All of us last weekend went to the Zoo, and having alone time with her, she was given her Birthday Present. As you can see in the photo both of us are very proud. Linda taught her to lift the side of her dress, bow and give a Wish with her wand.

Now, all she can say is ‘What do you wish, and I will Grant it? As I am the Princess of Wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!'

Future Cruiser and Linda

As most grandparents we are especially proud of our girl. Most of you know the original story of Future Cruiser, so we decided to up date you with her last exploits.

We took ‘Blue 2’ and Lil' Blue with us to see her. After her first ride on Lil Blue, she first wanted to go faster. Now I wonder where she got that from. Then she decided, Linda could have ‘Blue 2’ and she could have Lil Blue. Seeing that she is only three, it will have to be a few years.

Can you imagine Linda and Future Cruiser at a PT Cruiser Event, both driving a Cruisin Cruiser? Sorry, the thought is just too scary for my thoughts. Also if she continues to display Linda’s personality, I will have my hands full.
